Life as of now at work

I have been at the Ecc since April 2018, first 6 months I was a temp & was hired in August 2018 as a room sub, then in September 2018 officially as the cook.

I took a half sick day at one point. Next day I was fine.

I took a day off because my granddaughter was born.

We expanded in August of 2020, now we have 2 buildings. I had to cook in one kitchen and serve in the other kitchen.

Then I had to take a sick day at one point cause I had diarrhea.

In February of 2022 the kitchen was renovated while, The Ecc went through accreditation through the Lutheran Church, which was such a joke we shouldn’t have gotten accredited. We are never fully staffed, haven’t been since the pandemic started.

Since the kitchen renovation I have been at odds (so to speak) with the director of the Ecc, because of the kitchen & cafe and how I run it. At one point she fully admitted to me that she knows absolutely nothing about working in or running a kitchen. She makes snide & snarky comments occasionally. I’m constantly aggravated in my own space, it has worn me down to the point I am once again sick & had to take a day off work.

December 2022 I was finally given a copy of the budget for food in the kitchen & I was $14,000 over budget of where I was supposed to be, mean while I was never given anything about the budget ever, and the director is constantly on me about lowering food costs, I have invited her to come work in the kitchen with me for a day and she says that it’s not her job to do that. She has the new admin helping me because she has a background in food administration, but the director refuses to learn anything about the kitchen.

More will be added at some point in the future.
